wow, time flies!

OK, so I can't believe how quickly time flies with a newborn baby! It's already December! Our beautiful baby girl Danielle was born on October 18th... that's already 6 weeks ago. Wow!

I am absolutely loving being a mom. There was no doubt a transition period for us as our family grew from two to three. But luckily Dave took a couple of weeks off of work to help us get settled and into a routine of sorts. I don't know how I would have done it without him, he is a saint. He keeps up with cleaning the house, doing the laundry and cooking for me whenever he can. He likes to say he does 100% of the work around the house now, but I beg to differ. I do as much as I can between feedings and changing diapers and rocking my sweet angel to sleep (with some naps of my own in there too). It is surprising how quickly the days fly by when you're so focussed on keeping a baby happy.

I think the thing that has surprised me the most about taking care of Danielle is how natural it feels. I really had very little baby sitting experience and hadn't spent a whole lot of time with babies before Dani came along. I didn't have much of a clue what I was getting myself into. But I surprised myself how quickly I was able to slip into the motherly role. Who knew I could do this? I'm actually proud of myself and my little girl. Not to say that everything has been easy, I've had my moments when I cry right along with her because I feel so helpless. But overall, we're a pretty good team.

Dave is a great father! He seems to know the right time to come along and rescue me. Danielle and him can make faces at each other all day and keep entertained. I love watching the two of them together. That's my family, I'm completely in love with both of them.
So we're all learning as we go here. Danielle grows more and more and amazes me every day. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Here's a few of my favourite pictures of our little princess.

Jen and Dave
Your little princess is a combination of you both. You should be very proud of your accomplishments. She has Dave's eyes and hair but Uncle Herb sees a lot of Grandpa Klassen (Ted) in her as well. Enjoy!

Hi Jen,
What a beauty! Congratulations! How about some more pictures when you get a chance. I am glad to hear that the whole Motherhood thing came easily to you. That makes life a LOT easier! Hope all is well now.
Love to all,
Joyce Lasch (Becca's Mom)
